OUR PROPOSAL

In the last years some important innovations have modified deeply the organizations and the companies. At the time of the knowledge economy, it is fundamental to invest in research and education. Today the scene is strongly determined by the convergence of the information technology with telecommunications. This is the basys of the development and of the search for new applications; probably the most important point is the training of new roles able to understand and act quickly. New abilities and new organizational behaviors of the personnel in all the levels are necessary.
This happens because it is changing the same nature of the work: management by process, delegating, working in group, network organization, and the work by project, request new competitions, greater sensitivity and involvement of all the collaborators, supported by clear indications and values defined by the management. Our services to implement managerial education are designed with this logic: to help the companies to grow and to improve every day, empowering the professional competitions of the people, with education that integrates simulations, experiencial training, methods and solutions developed together with the customers. We believe in a training based in the principle of "learning by doing", interactive and concrete.

Since 1997 Gemini Europa is partner of MCC International b.v., a dutch company part of the FREIA group, and is the sole agent in Italy for the diffusion of training methods based on Practice Simulation, method created and experienced in the prestigious University of Groningen.

"Learning by doing", or learning by practice, is the guiding principle of Gemini Europa courses. The extremely flexible methodology allows a distribution through the e-learning method.

This partnership has been necessary to propose, in the managerial training field, innovative tools able to promote a new business culture.
What a company really needs today is a new method able to spread and promote managerial culture at every level.
Today companies need a professional approach, going from the front line (suppliers) to managers, and to the administrative department.

In our opinion, thinking that this new approach can be transferred to the Human Resources only in a traditional way, that is with training traditional systems only, it's a waste of time and money.

To obtain this approach is necessary to understand that:
1. Continuous learning is the base for the success of a company.
2. The success of a company assumes the ability to pursue methodically the company processes and targets.

Successful companies adopt this instrument (Practice Simulation) to promote a continuous improvement, the targets' sharing and the so called 'business risk' but, above all, to contain costs, both in the public and private sector.

A further advantage of this training method consists that everything (or almost everything) can be done at distance (e-learning), without the usual movement from the company during the training period or alive, dipending on the specifics needs of the customer.

Training by "Practice simulation" allows you to:

    That means to manage a company (virtual) and compete with other companies/teams in acquiring the highest market shares…
  • Take possession not only of knowledge, but above all, of experiences
    The course, divided into Decision-making Periods (corresponding to fiscal years), gives you the opportunity to have "real" experiences about the strategic company management, comparing with other companies/teams, obviously supported by Gemini Europa tutors
  • Transfer the acquired experiences in the working evironment
    The easiness and the extreme swiftness of your discussions (Report of the Period - Period Ranking - Market Research - questions) will give you the possibility to digest immediately the reactions provoked by your choices on the company you are managing
  • Use concrete computer models simulating real life
    As it happens in real life, each team/company management and the acquired market position will be the result of your strategic choices but also, or better, above all, of the other teams/companies choices

    The "e-learning" method course, through a special web site, the communication chats with the tutors, the deepening/comparison debate with the other teams will give you the opportunity to take advantage and know all the possible applications of new communication and work instruments

    In every way the Practice Simulation is done (live or trough e-learning method), participants will receive a feedback in really a very short time. In this way the participants will have an immediate comparison with their strategy, the achieved results and the market


Practice simulation is based on a very effective analogy:

" As pilots are trained and gain experience from flight simulators, why a manager should know his job without practising in a riskless environment of a practice simulation?"
In a simulated reality everyone can show his/her own abilities without running any risk.
Making mistakes is allowed, as you learn from your own mistakes. That is the principle of LEARNING BY DOING.

Participants form teams from 2 to 5 people and, as temporary managers, manage a virtual company, taking a series of decisions concerning the company progress.
The success depend from the showed managerial qualities.
The simulation phases include some Decision-making Periods (corresponding to fiscal years), divided into: Trial, Qualification and Final Round.
In the Trial Round they compete for just one Period and the result is not counted; In the Qualification Round, they compete for 5 Periods (normally each Period last a week); In the Final Round they compete for 5 Periods carried out in one day.
During the course the participants have to face some incidents, that will obliged the team to review their strategy, taking in account the market reaction.
The principal user groups are: companies, local authorities, no-profit organizations, students and recent graduates.
